MSG (R) Jerry Lee Stringer, 82 of Summit passed away on December 10, 2018 at his residence.
Mr. Stringer was born on July 8, 1936 in Pike County to the late Jake Stringer and Alta Molly Brown Stringer. He retired as a plumber for Marsalis Contractors and he was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. Mr. Stringer served his country in the U S Army and served in Desert Storm. He was a graduate of Southwest MS Community College.
Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 PM and Saturday from 11 AM till time of services at 2 PM at Friendship Baptist Church. Interment with military honors will follow the services at Reeves Cemetery. Rev Robert Netterville and Rev Abram Atchison will officiate the services.
Pallbearers will be Joey Stringer, Josh Stringer, Robby Woodall, Todd Stringer, Matt DeJesus, Michael Stringer.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Justin Holmes, Blake Woodall, Vince Guy, Tanner Guy, Corey Brown, Robert Polezcek, Friendship Men’s Adult 3 Sunday School Class, workers from Marsalis Contractors, Rusty Marsalis, Jason Marsalis, David Sandifer, and Jeff Bender.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Jake J. Stringer.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Janice Stringer, Sons and spouse James L Stringer(Lynn) and Joel Todd Stringer, daughters Cheri Stringer and Melissa Kay Stringer Holmes, a brother J. K. “Hoopy” Stringer and two chosen children Kenna Thornton(Yvonne) and Betty Thornton(Dave). Grandchildren, Joshua Stringer, Joey Stringer, Molly Stringer Atchison, Karen, Robby and Blake Woodall, Vince and Tanner Guy, Nikki Smith, Lindsey DeJesus, Justin and Angel Holmes, Jennifer Burch and Amanda Ballard. 15 Great Grandchildren.
