Frank Lavell “Bo” Gibbs, 69, passed away on April 4, 2020 at his home. He was the husband of Karen McGee Malone Gibbs. They shared 30 years of marriage together.
Born in Newton, MS on August 8, 1950, he was the son of the late Frank H. Gibbs and the late Bessie Mae Gibbs. He graduated from Newton High School in 1968. He lived in Newton, MS his entire life. He retired from the Mississippi Air National Guard and worked as a re-fueling technician.
He was a member of Pine Bluff Baptist Church. He enjoyed constructing and designing wood working items. He was also an avid hunter. He will be remembered for his quick wit and the ability to tell jokes and stories.
He was preceded in death by his stepson, T. Brian Malone, sisters, Lavern Nei-Smith (William), Betty Jean Woodrick (Wayne), and Linda Faye Coker.
He is survived by his wife, Karen McGee Malone Gibbs, son, Christian H. Gibbs (Laura), daughter, Shannon L. Gibbs (Jeff Brown), son, Shaun M. Gibbs, Grandchildren, Christine M. Weaver, Casey Bo Gibbs Lindsey (Zach), Christian Kai Gibbs, Elias Aiden Gibbs, Abraham Jordan Gibbs, Adessa Bo Gibbs, Jax Wheeler Brown, Great Grandchildren, Madelyn Grace Lindsey, Luna Maria Bustamante, and several nieces and nephews.
Private Family Graveside Services will be Friday, April 10, 2020, at 1:00 P.M. at Pine Bluff Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Jerry Griffin will officiate. Newton County Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. (601) 635-3200
Pallbearers will be Al Jones, James M. “Smiley” Smith, Micky McMahan, Ronnie Strait, Mike Lang, and Stanley Hines.
Honorary pallbearers will be Vic Terrell, Bennie Buggs, Johnny Norton, Kadillac Williamson, and his nephews and cousins.
