Mr. Daniel Richard Fischer a resident of Gulfport was born August 25,1939 in St. Louis, MO, the third oldest of six children. He began a career in the military by enlisting in the United States Army in 1959. After leaving active duty, Daniel pursued a career in a multitude of areas: sheet metal, blueprint reading, tv, radio, and industry electronics. Daniel also served time in both the Army National Guard at Avcrad in Gulfport and finally building trainers with Air National Guard at Keesler Air Force Base. When Daniel was not busy working, he enjoyed spending his time tinkering with electronics /computers, participating in the local Toastmasters, volunteering at the Forrest Heights Boys and Girls Club, square dancing and much more. Daniel Fischer passed away on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 in Ocean Springs, MS at the age of 78.
Daniel is preceded in death by his wife, Bettie Washington Fischer, his father, Daniel George Fischer, his mother, Edith Irene Reed Fischer, and his sisters, Gloria June and Margie Reider.
He is survived by his four children: Teresa Burchett, Daniel R. Fischer, Jr., Patricia Creel and Michael Fischer; his brother: William Fischer; sisters: Kathy Smith-Haury and Laura May; and 13 grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
