Services for Dwight Moody Willingham will be held Friday, July 5, 2019 2:00 PM at Williams & Lord Funeral Home in Ruleville, MS.

Mr. Willingham, age 84, died on Monday, July 1, 2019 at Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS.

He was born on January 12, 1935 in Indianola, MS, to the late Jessie James and Inez Pinkerton Willingham and lived in Drew, MS. He is preceded in death by three brothers, Mickey Willingham, Benny Willingham, Russell Willingham, and a sister, Jessie Mae Hopkins. Dwight proudly served his country in the US Navy for four years and was in the Korean conflict, afterwards enlisting in the Army National Guard and retiring after thirty four years of service as a Chief Warrant Officer #4. Dwight was a member of West Drew Baptist Church and was loved by all that knew him.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Darlene Waldrep Willingham of Drew, MS; two daughters, Cherry (Chuck) Roberts of Florence, MS,and Georgia(Bobby) Blackwell of Drew, MS; son, James Lesley(Karina) Willingham of Boyton Beach, FL; sisters, Jean(Kelly) Peeples of Savannah, GA, and Gracie Parker of Savannah, GA; 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 5, 2019 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Rev. Rick Milan will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be Stanley Cobb, Wayne Parks, A.W. Parks, Tony Champion, James Reed, and Jimmy Lee. Internment will be in Drew Cemetery. Military rites will be performed at the graveside service.
