David Edward Wagner, 56, of Florence, Mississippi, died Sunday, December 31, 2017, at UMC in Jackson, MS . He was born Thursday, October 5, 1961.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church in Taylorsville, Mississippi.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church in Taylorsville. The Burial will follow in Edon Baptist Church Cemetery, Stringer, MS. Dr. Frankie Clark and Dr. Don Patterson will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Taylorsville is in charge of arrangements. (601) 785-6564

David was faithful member of Marvin United Methodist Church where he enjoyed teaching the Mary Bozeman Sunday School Class. He was a draftsman/designer for Second Moment Engineering for more than 20 years. David was a great story teller and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. From birth David was a do it yourselfer. His first sentence was “MY DO IT MY SELF” and he lived his life by that motto.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dean Wagner, Grandparents Virgil & Helen Wagner and Dan & Thelma King.

Survivors include his wife of 35 years Jennifer Benton Wagner, Mother, Janelle Wagner, Son, Wesley Wagner (Katharine), Daughter, Jessica Wagner Brother, Dan Wagner and a host of nieces and nephews, and many beloved family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Christopher Park, Will Godfrey, Derek Wagner, Dylan Wagner, Dan Wagner and Sidney Godfrey,

Honorary pallbearers will be Mickey Carney, Trey Moseley, Blaine Bo Eaton, Cal Mangum, Joe Herndon. Dorwin Blakeney, Larry Blakeney, Harry Blakeney, Wendy Wagner and Tommy Byrd.
