Obituary
Vincent Christopher Martinez, Sr.
(December 11, 1960 – July 25, 2019)
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 28, 2019 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins for Vincent Christopher Martinez, Sr., 58 of Seminary, who passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2019 at the Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg.
Reverend Daniel Lee will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Union South Baptist Church Cemetery in Seminary. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 28, 2019 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins.
Pallbearers will be family members and friends.
Mr. Martinez was born on December 11, 1960 in White Castle, Louisiana. He was a loving father and grandfather. Mr. Martinez worked at the Covington County Schools for eleven years in the maintenance department. He also worked as a mechanic for the Readiness Sustainment Maintenance Site (RSMS) at Camp Shelby for nine years before his retirement. Mr. Martinez was a member of the Lone Star Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Paul Martinez and Zoe Himel Ourso; one sister, Delores Martinez; and one brother, Jeffrey Martinez.
Survivors include one son, Chris Martinez, and his wife Christy of Sumrall; one daughter, Crystal Gentry, and her husband, Charlie of Sumrall; four grandchildren, Annabel Martinez, Abigail Martinez, Aubrey Gentry, and Jaxson Gentry; three brothers, Roger Martinez, Michael Martinez, and Raymond Martinez, all of White Castle, Louisiana; two sisters, Loretta Martinez and Jimmy Marie Delaune, both of White Castle, Louisiana; and a host of nieces and nephews.
